There was some scouting stuff left over besides Gettysburg, and some Venturing stuff left over besides kayaking. You can find all that jazz here.

Eagle Court of Honor
So... I helped out several Eagle Scout Courts of Honor over the summer. This one was for two people. Congratulations, Darin and Scott.

[Repeat two more times for Colin and Shaun].
Eagle Scout Project
I also got a chance to help out with one of the Lees' Eagle Scout Projects. He was doing some cleanup at historic Sycamore Tavern in Montpelier, VA.
We were doing some access improvements and general cleaning to the garden they have in the back of the place.
We even got to cut a hole in this historic fence.
Here I am, doing the only thing I'm good for: drinking a soda and holding up lumber.
OK, fast forward: the goal was to construct Ann Arbor... I mean, an arbor over a new entry to the place. Here's how it turned out, along with the construction crew.
And of course, the obligatory crazy picture.
Yay, the finished product. When I last checked they were still trying to decide whether to paint it white or not.
Kayak Prep
So... there's this big kayaking trip at the end of the year, right? So we all need to get our swim tests done, and make sure we can do wet exits from the kayaks. So Brooks let us come over to the pool where he works and flip over some kayaks.
Yep.
Look at us go.
They decided for some reason to make me the crew leader. So here's my room at my mom's place, covered in maps. I really quite enjoy cartography.
And here's my stuff to pack. I was really quite pleased with how little stuff I was bringing. Yeah. Keep looking around for pictures from the actual trip.
