Oh, the Irony

Take one "Fire on Campus" safety guide...
...add some matches...
...and some people...
...and some oxygen...
...and you get some mild comedy.
Who's at the Door?

And now, the moment you've been waiting for: the feature that's been advertised for almost a whole year now (October 20, 2005), who's at the door! It's a The Cheat!
It's Kathleen, creating dry erase graffiti on our peephole.
Look it's Greg, waving goodbye after leaving following an extended nap on our spacious and comfortable futon.
And what ever could be going on outside now? Well...
...it's Tape Bowling!

In an attempt to continue the glorious tradition of Hall Sports in Hillcrest, a number of 2.5nd floor residents engaged in a lively game of tape bowling.
Here's David with the windup...
...ooh, too bad.
And here's Juila, attempting the rather difficult ramp jump. The object of tape bowling is to achieve maximum distance from a given point, and in order to make it up the 2.5nd floor steps some innovation is required.
And through perfect tape bowling form, Juila makes the shot.
Meanwhile, in the Room...

The Residence Hall (that's Dorm to you and me) Federation provided each room with an adhesive whiteboard. The Hillcrest 235/237 suite decided to use their whiteboards to lay down the law in the bathroom. Oh, and that thing below the whiteboard... that's just something that I accidentally packed... and then felt obligated to post.
And since each room had a board, we had one board left to spare for entertainment purposes. Here, we were supposed to fill in articles in our version of Tech's newspaper, the Collegiate Times. Starting from the top, these stories make fun of:
Blacksburg's crazy weather
The fact that the newspaper is not daily, though it sometimes claims to be
A blatant error in a graph on the front page 2 days earlier
Editorials in the past week criticising the College Republicans' effort to create "conservitive safe zones" in contrast to the LGBTA Safe Zones
An article about press coverage of football games
Typical articles in the paper
The paper's numerous gramattical and factual errors
The next week, the board solicited suggestions about how to make things in Hillcrest better.
On an unrelated note, look at all of these socks that went through my laundry this one time!
...and Out in the Hall

The cold war between 237's stuffed parrot and 235's certified live parrot continued.
Holy crap, that's an enormous teddy bear. Look, it's Alejandro Bear (he's very soft) and my roommate fast asleep.
